Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at The Magnolia has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at The Magnolia at Auburn pays a flat rate that includes:

  • In-unit laundry
  • High-speed internet
  • Water/sewer
  • Optional furniture package (additional charge)
  • Community features –pool, fitness center, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at The Magnolia at Auburn include 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, with a private bedroom-bathroom suite for each resident.

Are the apartments furnished?

The Magnolia offers an optional furniture package for a small additional charge, which includes a full-size bed, desk and chair, nightstand and dresser drawers in each bedroom and a sofa, chair, coffee table, dining table and barstools in the living room and kitchen. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model apartment.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 13, 2023 to July 21, 2024, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 1 installment.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. The Magnolia at Auburn also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at The Magnolia?

Your living costs at The Magnolia at Auburn can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at The Magnolia. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is The Magnolia at Auburn open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at The Magnolia at Auburn are students at Auburn University, with some students from Tuskegee University and Southern Union State Community College. The per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, The Magnolia is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired residence.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

The Magnolia at Auburn has a monitored fire-sprinkler system, along with individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also available 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

The Magnolia at Auburn is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at The Magnolia?

The Magnolia at Auburn offers free on-site parking for residents and guests.

What other transportation options will I have?

The Auburn University shuttle bus service, Tiger Transit, picks up right in front of the community and runs to campus on weekdays between 7am and 8pm, during Fall and Spring semesters when class is in session.
